The radiology department at Raigmore Hospital has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop in the field of radiography. Joining as a Health Care Support Worker, the successful individual will assist with patient transfer, preparation, and care, while providing a friendly and welcoming presence at the department's front.
This is an Annex 21 post, and in late summer 2026, the individual will begin formal education towards a Certificate of Higher Education in Radiographic Studies. This includes one year of hybrid studies with university attendance and work-based placements within NHS Highland. Upon completing the course in summer 2027, the candidate will progress to a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner role, working alongside radiographers to produce high-quality imaging.
No prior radiology experience is necessary; however, we seek individuals with a healthcare background, a desire to learn, and a commitment to improving patient experiences using the latest imaging technology.
The post is graded as Band 4, with pay in accordance with Annex 21. During training, the salary is a percentage of the full Band 4 rate: Year 1 at 70%, Year 2 at 75% (including uplift to the Scottish Living Wage).
