Job Description -
This role is for a Security Installation/Maintenance Engineer working out of our offices in Woodley, Reading. We are currently seeking a Junior Engineer who we will train to carry out installations and routine maintenance of a variety of fire and security installations including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and gate automation. Candidates do not require previous experience from the industry as we will provide full training.
This person will ensure that routine maintenance visits are carried out effectively and records are kept up to date to ensure compliance.
Responsibilities -
* Carry out routine maintenance of fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, access control and gate automation installations
* Maintain records of routine maintenance visits and provide copies to customers for their compliance
* Work alongside our installation team to carry out fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV, access control and gate automation installations
* Provide telephone and email support to customers where required
* Maintain a tidy van and ensure stock levels are routinely replenished
* Maintain our high standards particularly regarding customer communications and response times
* Engage in training opportunities to further develop skills and knowledge in key areas
* Complete any other tasks as requested by your line manager or a senior member of staff
Applicant Requirements -
* A general knowledge and interest in security installations
* Some IT/Computing qualifications (GCSE, BTEC, A-Level) are preferable but not essential
* Knowledge and understanding of standard office software packages
* A good standard of written and oral communication
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment, both taking direction from and supporting other colleagues
* Flexibility regarding working hours; overtime is paid but there are likely to be circumstances where you will be required to start early or finish later than usual
* A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
* Employment will be subject to a clear Enhanced Disclosure (DBS).
