We're currently looking for a passionate person to join our young, dynamic & award winning business in Worcester. Knowledge of Japanese cuisine is not essential as full training will be provided by Pete, our exec Chef/Director.
Assisting in Menu Planning: Collaborates with the Executive Chef in planning and creating menu items, ensuring food quality, presentation, and innovation.
Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepares and cooks meals according to the recipes and standards of the restaurant.
Supervising Kitchen Staff: Manages and supervises kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, ensuring they follow food safety standards and work efficiently.
Maintaining Kitchen Hygiene: Ensures that the kitchen, cooking equipment, and utensils are clean and sanitized in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Inventory Management: Assists in managing inventory, ordering ingredients, and ensuring that kitchen supplies are stocked and organized.
Training and Mentoring: Trains new kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques, food safety, and efficiency.
Quality Control: Ensures the quality of all dishes leaving the kitchen meets the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
Assisting in Budgeting: Helps the Executive Chef with managing kitchen costs, including food costs, labor, and other operational expenses.
Handling Special Requests: Addresses special dietary requests and customer concerns regarding food.
Managing Shift Operations: Takes charge of the kitchen during the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring that all tasks are completed and the kitchen runs smoothly.
Collaborating with Other Departments: Works closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and dining area.
Starting pay up to £38k + cash tips & tronc.
Pay is weekly.
