A renowned Classic Car Restoration Workshop in the Liss, Hampshire area is seeking a passionate and skilled Classic Car Engineer. Specialising in both classic and modern vehicle repair and maintenance, our client is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced vehicle technician to join their talented team. This permanent role is ideal for someone looking to grow their expertise in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Our client understands that you may not be an expert on every vehicle from the 1950s, but they are searching for someone with a strong willingness to learn and an ability for problem-solving.
Working from their well-equipped workshop near Liss, Hampshire, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality workmanship and will serve as a technical role model for junior technicians. Self-motivation and strong communication skills are key, as you’ll be liaising with different parts of the business and interacting with customers. This role also offers the potential for career progression into more senior positions.
Key Responsibilities of a Classic Car Engineer with our client:
5. Perform assigned work to a high professional standard
6. Carry out classic car restoration projects based on customer requests
7. Dismantle, label, and store vehicle parts and assemblies
8. Undertake day-to-day vehicle mechanics, fabrication, and motor engineering (this is not a simple parts-fitting position!)
9. Assess and either replace or restore stripped components
10. Compile clear parts and materials lists to assist with the purchasing process
11. Reassemble restored vehicles, ensuring top-notch quality and long-term customer satisfaction
Requirements:
12. NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, with a minimum of 3 years’ workshop experience
13. Enthusiastic, respectful, and friendly attitude towards both customers and colleagues
14. Positive, can-do approach to work
15. Passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences
16. High integrity and a strong drive to succeed
17. Team player with excellent customer service skills
18. Honest and diligent work ethic
19. Organised and systematic in handling tasks
20. Previous experience with classic vehicles and a solid understanding of automotive systems
21. Full and valid UK Driving Licence
