We're looking for a caring and committed SEMH Early Years Support Assistant to join a nurturing early years provision in Rochdale.
In this role, you'll be supporting children aged 3-5 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. Your work will focus on building positive relationships, encouraging emotional regulation, and supporting their social and academic development.
About the role:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to each child's needs
2. Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
3. Work closely with the Early Years Lead, SENCO, and wider staff team
4. Support learning through play, structured activities, and sensory-based interventions
5. Help create a warm, inclusive environment where every child feels valued
Requirements:
* Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (essential)
* A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
* Understanding of early years development and the EYFS framework (desirable)
