Role Overview
We are looking for a Band 6 Diabetes Specialist Midwife to join our maternity service’s Diabetes in Pregnancy multi‑disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* You will provide high quality, safe midwifery care to women and their families whose pregnancy is complicated by diabetes.
* You will supply direct client care and offer extra support to women with a diabetic pregnancy, working in partnership with the Diabetes Specialist Lead Midwife and the wider multidisciplinary team.
* You will plan and coordinate individualized care for women and their families, acting as a link between the maternity service and other diabetes‑related services.
* You will assist the Diabetes Specialist Lead Midwife to ensure that high standards of quality care are delivered and maintained for women with diabetes, and deputise for the Band 7 Diabetes Specialist Midwife as required.
* You will promote the use of quality improvement methods by frontline staff to deliver measurable improvements in patient care.
* You will act as a resource of diabetes specialist knowledge to other members of the multidisciplinary team.
