Job Overview
Barnet Emergency Department is an exciting place to work. We are looking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Band 5 registered children’s nurse.
Main Duties of the Job
* liaise appropriately with all key members of the multidisciplinary team and service users related to the specialty;
* take responsibility for all aspects of patient care, including assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care with supervision from senior staff;
* ensure safeguarding of all aspects of patient care;
* work in all areas of the Children’s Emergency Department;
* support the Charge Nurse/Senior Sister to monitor the safety and quality of care for patients;
* ensure a positive focussed service incorporating patient and family feedback to maintain and improve patient care;
* act as an effective role model, promoting excellence through practice;
* support the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness in own clinical area.
Person Specification
* Education & Professional Qualifications:
o Registered children’s nurse with appropriate registration, experience and NMC registration;
o Teaching and assessing qualification;
o Ability to work as a team member;
o Ability to plan own workload;
o Evidence of being up to date with current NHS and professional issues;
o Understanding of safeguarding and the process of reporting concerns.

o Mature and professional, enthusiastic and positive attitude;
o Displays compassion and understanding.
* Others:
o Able to work internal rotation to night duty;
o Expresses desire to work in Accident and Emergency setting.

o Understanding of acute healthcare and experience in an acute setting;
o Experience expressed to work in ED;
o Apprenticeship Training (if AT* is next to job title);
