Overview
Mitie is looking for a Small Works Supervisor (BCE) to join their team in Glasgow and the greater Clyde area working on the Future Defence Infrastructure Service (FDIS) contract. This role involves coordinating and managing minor new works, planned preventative maintenance, reactive and remedial works, supply chain management along with compliance.
Responsibilities
* Manage, organize, and prioritize work schedules to ensure contracted deliverables and key performance indicators are consistently achieved, with a focus on airfield pavements and buildings across our sites.
* With suitable qualification, training and experience become the Asbestos Responsible Person.
* Support planned maintenance through report writing, review and delivery of remedial works.
* Review risk assessments and method statements for high-risk activities, planned response and minor new works, including administration and review of reports and certification upon completion of works.
* Be aware of commercial requirements on the contract, update and respond to audits, and develop an understanding of core applications like MAXIMO and Coupa, as well as facilities management services provided to customers.
* Be flexible to contract changes, resolve customer issues, and be aware of the business continuity plan.
* Attend training and meetings; ensure supply chain contractors observe JSP 375 requirements; work closely with the Mobile Authorised Persons team to ensure compliance.
* Support the Helpdesk in responding to requests for professional and technical advice and maintain close working relationships with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and end users.
Qualifications & Skills
* Confident with a professional approach and adaptable to change; able to solve problems and make decisions with proactive performance management skills.
* Experience in planning, directing, and controlling activities; excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work on own initiative within a team; manage workload; relevant experience in a similar role.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with attention to customer care.
* Familiarity with construction, building, or facilities management are essential.
* Experience and qualification as an Asbestos Responsible Person is highly desirable, but training can be provided; must be willing to undertake periods of training (Asbestos, airfield pavements) away from site.
* Training and qualifications: NVQ level qualification in a relevant trade, building, Civil Engineering or related discipline, or significant relevant experience; a management level qualification in Health & Safety and Environment (e.g., SMSTS).
Location & Hours
Based in Kentigern House, Glasgow. The role requires on site working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
