Salary: Grade 10: Starts at GBP 54,879, rising by yearly increments to a maximum of GBP 59,697 per annum

About The Role
The principal responsibility is to manage the Data Forensic Team in examining electronic devices, including computers and mobile devices, across all levels of crime investigation within the South West Forces. Key responsibilities include:
* Managing technical investigations involving securing and retrieving data from seized computers and mobile devices, including configuring operating systems and applications.
* Attending searches as necessary, producing technical documentation related to data retrieved from digital devices and media.
* Assisting in level 2 criminal investigations as directed by Force/Regional tasking to meet Force targets efficiently. Liaising with other law enforcement agencies and coordinating investigative efforts.
* Acting as a Digital Forensic coordinator for staff and resources in investigations requiring a multidisciplinary technical response across one or multiple South West Forces.
* Managing unit performance, aligned with the Force performance framework and quality management systems.

An enhanced medical questionnaire will be required to assess the applicant's ability to undertake these functions, followed by a medical assessment and possible consultation with the Occupational Health Support Unit. The post holder may be asked to undertake other duties consistent with the role.
