The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and procuring materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction projects. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material and Equipment Sourcing: Research, identify, and select suppliers based on project requirements, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness.
2. Vendor Negotiation: Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers, including pricing, delivery, payment, and warranties.
3. Purchasing and Ordering: Place purchase orders ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and budgets.
4. Cost Control: Analyze market trends to optimize procurement strategies and control costs.
5. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, address issues, and seek improvements.
6. Contract Management: Review and manage supplier contracts for compliance and legal adherence.
7. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control to verify materials meet standards.
8. Project Coordination: Work with project teams to understand needs and support procurement activities.
9. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to policies and regulations, maintaining accurate records.
Additional Duties:
