Full time / Part time, permanent roles.

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) Children and Young People Services, Mental Health in School's Team are recruiting Children's Wellbeing Practitioners. The service has multiple teams across Coventry and Warwickshire and are currently undergoing expansion to service offers.

We are seeking Children Wellbeing Practitioners in locations across Coventry and Warwickshire. Applicants must be registered with a governing body (BABCP/BPS) be able to drive and have access to their own vehicle for business use.

We require individuals who are passionate about working with children and young people, families, education staff, and the wider school and college community to provide evidence based and innovative support for emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will work as part of a Mental Health Support Team (MHST), delivering low-intensity, evidence-based, brief psychological interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, in line with CYP IAPT principles and the professional standards of the BABCP and the British Psychological Society (BPS).

The post holder will undertake structured assessments, risk screening, formulation, and collaborative goal setting, using routine outcome measures to inform intervention planning and review.

Interventions will be delivered in accordance with approved Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner treatment protocols and competency frameworks, including guided self-help, psychoeducation, behavioural activation, exposure-based approaches, and anxiety and mood management strategies. Delivery may be individual or group-based within education or community settings, under appropriate clinical supervision.

The post holder will work in partnership with families, schools, and partner agencies to promote engagement and effective intervention delivery, while remaining within the defined CWP clinical remit and professional boundaries.

The role requires adherence to professional, ethical, safeguarding, and clinical governance standards, alongside continuous professional development expectations.

The post holder will maintain accurate and timely clinical records, contribute to routine outcome monitoring, and participate in service evaluation, audit, and quality improvement activity.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* CWP training course qualification and registration with BABCP or BPS professional body
* Evidence of working with Children and young people who have experienced mental health problems.


Knowledge

* Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and telephone skills
* Ability to form positive therapeutic relationships with service users and carers whilst maintaining appropriate boundaries.
* Able to write clear reports and letters.


Experience

* Experience of working within set criteria and referring to other services as appropriate
* Experience of working within Primary Care services


Other

* Holds a full UK driving licence and is able to drive across the locality to meet service requirements.
