Support Coordinator - Waking Nights Earn £13.21 per hour (salary £25,838 per year) plus instant pay access with Stream Temporary contract (to 1st March 2026), full time (37.5 hpw), rota working Sunderland - based at the University of Sunderland. The service provides emotional, wellbeing, crisis prevention and mental health support and operates alongside the University’s Wellbeing Team. What you’ll do * Receive calls from students, listening to their concerns and offering guidance. * Offering face to face support and welfare checks in the Student Accommodation. * Coordinating events to promote student wellbeing, from; film nights to stalls at freshers week. * Work in close collaboration with the University’s Wellbeing, Accommodation and Security Teams to ensure wrap-around support is available to students 24/7. * Provide person-centred, tailored guidance to students in relation to a wide range of needs which are having a detrimental effect on their wellbeing, such as emotional support, signposting to financial support and support to access community, social and voluntary groups. The practical bits * Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our students. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion. * Working from 18:30 - 06:30, 4 nights on 4 nights off 8 week rolling rota. (Part Time is 2 nights per week) * Although you’ll work nights, we do get together regularly for training and team meetings. * Able to use technology to update outcome spreadsheets, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues and our stakeholders at the University. * You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
