Registered Manager – Children's Home

Location: Shirebrook, Derbyshire

Salary: Up to £51,975

Role: Full-time, Permanent

Lantern Care Homes are currently recruiting for a Registered Manager of a children's residential home, providing care and support for up to two children and young people.

Lantern Care Homes are a small company whose aim is to provide high quality and bespoke care to children and young people whilst nurturing our staff and investing in their career progression. Our aim is to develop and grow to provide care through a wider range of homes.

On offer is a fully funded, accredited training programme which offers excellent and personalised career progression, a competitive package and a supportive environment. The successful applicant will have access to regular supervision, ongoing training and development and a supportive team.

The successful applicant will have previous experience of a management role within a children's residential home and will have attained or will be willing to work towards their Level 5 or equivalent NVQ qualification.

Responsibilities of the Registered Manager

* Supervising and supporting a team of residential support workers, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure that high standards of care are maintained.
* Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in your care, working to safeguard them from harm and providing emotional and practical support.
* Supporting the development and implementation of care plans for the children in your care, working collaboratively with other professionals.
* Managing challenging behaviour and de-escalating potentially harmful situations.
* Maintaining accurate records of the children's care and progress, including incident reports, care plans, and other relevant documentation.
* Promoting the social, emotional, and physical development of the children in your care, planning and implementing activities and programs that support their growth and development.
* Developing positive relationships with the children in your care, providing a positive role model and mentor.
* Using clear care to ensure all children's and home records are up to date
* Reporting regularly to the Responsible Individual
* Having a good knowledge of the Children's Home Regulations and Standards
* Manage inspections including supporting the team in the preparation for inspections.
* Have a clear working knowledge of the Social Care Inspection Framework.
