Overview
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Matron focusing on the Learning Disability and Autism services in Suffolk. This is ideal for someone proactive and passionate about innovation and providing a high‑quality holistic approach to the care of people who have Learning Disabilities and Autism. There is a strong MDT approach within the teams and the role of the Specialist Matron will have oversight and support for the clinical governance framework, champion the role of the nurse and ensure high quality care is provided in all the services. There is an established Expert by Experience group within these services and strong links with ICB, Social care and the VCSE. The post is 37.5 hours, with the expectation of present and visible leadership both in the community and inpatient units. There is a strong Matron network for peer support and development.
Responsibilities
* Provide senior clinical and professional leadership across the LD & A services in the community and inpatient.
* Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and high quality care in line with best practice and national guidance.
* Lead on clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management.
* Oversee staffing, workforce development, supervision and performance management.
* Work collaboratively with community services, commissioners and partner agencies.
* Lead service development initiatives to improve access, outcomes and patient experience.
* Act as a role model for compassionate care.
* Lead CQC preparation for services in the portfolio.
