Family Support Lead – Overview
Hilltop Primary School, Crawley, West Sussex – Permanent, Education – non‑teaching.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for parents and carers of vulnerable pupils, offering tailored support.
- Build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with pupils, staff, and external agencies and professionals.
- Develop and implement targeted strategies to enhance pupil attendance, engagement and progress.
- Serve as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), partnering with the DSL to uphold child protection, safety and wellbeing standards.
- Act as a bridge between home and school, working closely with parents, carers and external professionals to overcome barriers to learning.
- Provide regular safeguarding and inclusive education support, ensuring professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with a focus on active listening.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusive education and willingness to complete DSL training if required.
- Strong understanding and commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Employment Details
Hours: 35 hours per week. Monday to Thursday, 08:30‑16:00 with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break.
