A leading US law firm is looking for a Commercial Lawyer (client terms) to join their in-house Risk & Compliance team in London.
The Commercial Lawyer (client terms) will focus on the review, negotiation and management of client engagement terms.
The role would suit a commercially minded lawyer with strong contract negotiation experience gained in a law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Commercial Lawyer (client terms) role:
Reviewing and negotiating:
* Client engagement letters
* Outside counsel guidelines (OCGs)
* Framework agreements and panel terms
* NDAs and related commercial documentation
Advising on contractual risk issues including:
* Limitation of liability and indemnities
* Confidentiality and information security
* Data protection provisions
* Conflicts, ethics and regulatory clauses
* Insurance-related provisions
* Identifying and escalating non-standard or high-risk clauses to senior OGC colleagues where required.
* Supporting partner training on engagement terms and contractual risk management.
* Contributing to global alignment with US and other international offices.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or common law jurisdiction preferred).
* Strong commercial contracts experience.
* Experience negotiating client terms within a law firm environment highly desirable.
* Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
