* Develop and maintain finished product, interim and customer specifications in line with regulatory, safety and customer standards
* Work collaboratively with New Product Development, Purchasing and suppliers to establish Gold Standard specifications
* Manage specification databases and document management systems, ensuring accurate version control and timely updates
* Conduct regular reviews and audits of specifications to maintain compliance and accuracy
* Review supplier raw material and packaging specifications, challenging inconsistencies and ensuring alignment
* Coordinate nutritional testing schedules, analyse results and manage corrective actions with suppliers where needed
* Create and maintain Mini Specifications and Quality Attribute Sheets (QAS) to support Goods-In quality control
* Partner with manufacturing and customer teams to resolve specification-related queries and support efficient production
The Person
* Previous experience in specification management within the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality assurance principles, and product specification management.
* Proficiency with specification systems/databases and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Understanding of production processes, raw material specifications, and nutritional analysis.
* Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to continuous improvement and quality assurance.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, maintaining a positive, solution-focused attitude
