Role Overview
The Assistant Fashion Designer will support our Senior Designers and Product Development team across all aspects of the design process—from trend research and sketching to assisting with samples and fittings. This flexible role is ideal for a recent graduate or junior designer looking to balance part-time work with other commitments, while building towards a permanent career in fashion design.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in trend research, mood boards, and seasonal colour palettes.
Create technical sketches and flats using Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
Support with tech packs, measurement charts, and specification sheets.
Source fabrics, trims, and components in collaboration with the design team.
Help coordinate samples, attend fittings, and follow up with accurate sample comments.
Maintain design boards, organise samples, and update line-sheets.
Provide general administrative support to the design and product development team.
Requirements
Degree (or equivalent) in Fashion Design, Textiles, or related field.
Strong creative portfolio showing design ability.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
Basic knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and trims.
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
Flexible availability for part-time hours, with interest in progressing to full-time.
