We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Abingdon who are looking for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team.
You will be joining a small, talented clinical team. The role will involve all aspects of nursing and you will be prepared to develop your skills by collaborating with the team. You will perform your nursing duties with confidence and competence to provide the gold standard of care to the practice's loyal clients by assisting vets in surgical procedures. You must have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Your nursing duties will involve managing the kennels, assisting in the operating theatre and consulting.
The position is full time for 40 hours per week, along with 1 in 3 weekends. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.
Duties:
6. Assisting in the day to day running of the practice
7. Admissions and discharges
8. Working alongside the non-clinical and clinical team to ensure the smooth delivery of patient and client care
9. Be responsible and take ownership of tasks
10. Monitoring operations and assisting the vet in surgery
11. Administering medications and taking records accurately
12. In patient care
13. Nurse clinics
14. Measuring blood pressure, sampling, and pharmacy work
