Product Design/Resistant Materials Teacher

GSL Education are looking for a qualified Product Design/Resistant Materials Teacher to work ata highly reputable Client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire, from September 2024.

Product Design/Resistant Materials Teacher Responsibilities:
* Design and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in Product Design/Resistant Materials, aligned with the national curriculum and examination board requirements..
* Provide effective instruction using a variety of teaching methods, such as practical demonstrations, group activities, and multimedia presentations, to cater to diverse learning styles.
* Teach students the fundamental principles of design, materials, manufacturing processes, and technological systems through hands-on projects and practical workshops.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop environment, including the safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials, and the implementation of risk assessments..
* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students, including those with special educational needs (SEN) or varying levels of prior knowledge and skills.
* Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians, providing updates on student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have..
Product Design/Resistant Materials Teacher Requirements:
* Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS).
* Degree in Product Design, Design and Technology, or a related field.
* Previous experience teaching Product Design/Resistant Materials at the secondary school level.
* Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for design and manufacturing.
* Enthusiasm for inspiring students and fostering a love for design and technology.
* Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
