Behaviour Support Mentor

2. Full time - Monday to Friday

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Student Behaviour Mentor to join our dynamic team. This is a rewarding opportunity to help students develop positive behaviours, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive environment.
The school has two sites, one caters for primary students and the other caters for secondary. They are looking for staff at both sites, so if you have a preference with age group, we can discuss this at interview and ensure you are put forward for the preferred site.
Key Responsibilities:
4. Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges to promote a safe and respectful learning environment
5. Build trusting relationships to encourage positive engagement and conduct
6. Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and interventions
7. Support small group and 1:1 sessions to promote social and emotional development - these 1-1 sessions will sometimes be off site at a cafe or library
8. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student progress
9. Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, patience, and empathy
The ideal candidate will have:
10. Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural needs or SEN
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
12. Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting student development
13. The ability to work effectively as part of a team
14. A flexible and proactive approach
15. A clean driving licence, although this is not essential
