Plant Operator
Salary – £13.00
Hours – 39 hours per week
Location – Greengairs Landfill, ML6 7TD
As a Plant Operator at FCC Environment, you will help ensure the safe and efficient disposal of waste at our landfill facility. You will be operating a variety of mobile plant machinery and assisting with site operations to meet environmental, safety, and efficiency standards.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?
•Operating a range of mobile plant machinery (bulldozer, excavator, compactor, etc.)
•Performing daily plant pre-start checks and reporting defects
•Maintaining equipment through routine greasing, cleaning, and light maintenance
•Supporting the Supervisor with the safe and efficient running of the site
•Clearing waste bays and transferring waste to the active landfill cell
•Liaising with the weighbridge team regarding waste streams
•Upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
•Assisting with weighbridge cover as needed
What are we looking for?
•Experience operating mobile plant machinery essential
•Qualifications to operate heavy plant preferred (bulldozer, shovel, dumper, etc.)
•Experience in landfill operations desirable
•Strong verbal communication skills
•A proactive, flexible, and practical approach
•Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
•Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices
