Department Description

Our vision is to reimagine Relationship Banking for established SMEs through the best people, products, and digital tools. The Relationship Manager team, formed in 2022, provides every new customer with a dedicated Relationship Manager to deliver outstanding service. Relationship Managers build deep trust, understand customers’ ambitions, and support them with Allica Bank products such as Business Current Accounts, Savings Accounts, Commercial Loans, Asset Finance, and Working Capital Facilities.


Principal Accountabilities

* Manage a portfolio of SME customers, understanding their needs and business aspirations, and look for opportunities to support them via Allica Bank services and your external network.
* Originate SME lending opportunities for existing and new customers from initial enquiry through completion, including writing credit papers in line with Allica’s credit policy.
* Deliver the business plan for your local area, and actively manage your objectives and personal development plan.
* Represent Allica in your local area, ensuring excellent service for SME customers, prospects and advisors.
* Collaborate closely with all areas of Allica to provide a seamless and professional service.
* Contribute positively to Allica’s culture and demonstrate the bank’s values.
* Comply with all mandatory policies and operational procedures to maintain internal controls.


Personal Attributes & Experience

* Highly capable Relationship Manager and Business Developer with a long-term track record of building high‑value, trust‑based referral relationships.
* Strong understanding of SME banking and background in commercial lending.
* History of exemplary service and maximising value for prospects and customers.
* Passion for SMEs, self‑starter, entrepreneurial mindset.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with evidence of strong career progression or outperformance.
* Ability to work expertly with customers, colleagues and advisors to structure new lending proposals and write credit applications.
* Track record of providing excellent customer service and generating new income opportunities while managing credit risk.
* Ability to analyse and review financial accounts and related information.
