In the role of a Fire Protection Engineer, you will provide specialist engineering advice and interpret customer requirements for passive fire protection to produce estimates and specifications for FIRETEX products.
You will communicate effectively, offering advice and estimates to customers, sales teams, and project tracking to ensure conversions from estimates to orders, establishing a reputation for service excellence and generating additional global inquiries.
This role is primarily office-based but can consider remote working.
* Support the global sales team by estimating paint thickness and quantity required for fire protection of steel buildings.
* Coordinate with the technical services team to understand specifications and select appropriate products.
* Learn to use software such as FDE, AutoCAD, Planswift, and Tekla.
* Utilize Excel for project management.
* Gain knowledge of steel structures, Cellulosic & Hydrocarbon Fire, and Fire Engineering principles.
Required experience: 2-3 years in industries such as steel fabrication, steel drawings, steel erection, steel design & fabrication, MEP engineering, architecture, passive fire protection, or intumescent coatings.
Preferred candidates include those with experience as Site Engineers, Steel Designers, Engineering Design, R&D, Quantity Surveyors, or Steel Drawing Checkers.
Experience with CAD, Tekla, PDS/PSMS, Microsoft Office, or 3D BIM is advantageous.
Must be able to read and interpret structural engineering and architectural drawings, with a broad understanding of structural steelwork and engineering principles.
* Confident communication with clients via phone or email to gather technical information for accurate project quantification.
* Ability to advise clients on engineering solutions, including fire-engineered solutions (training provided).
* Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software is desirable.
* Ability to quantify steelwork materials in a structured format is beneficial.
* Good communication skills, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential.
Basic knowledge of paint technology, especially FIRETEX products, and passive fire protection principles is desirable.
