Principal Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a diverse team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, environmental consultancy, and contaminated land assessment. As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll be given the opportunity to take on more responsibilities, playing a key role in leading and overseeing ground investigations, managing projects, and providing expert guidance to our team.
The Principal Geotechnical Engineer selected will be:
1. Lead and manage geotechnical and environmental projects from conception to completion
2. Oversee and conduct comprehensive ground investigations and assessments
3. Provide technical expertise and guidance on geotechnical and contaminated land issues
4. Mentor and lead a team of engineers and technicians
5. Develop and maintain client relationships and lead business development initiatives
6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
7. Collaborate with other departments and disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
To be considered for the Principal Geotechnical Engineer role you must have:
8. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
9. Considerable experience in geotechnical engineering and consultancy
10. Strong project management skills and experience overseeing ground investigations
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
12. Proven track record of business development and client management
13. Live in or near to Edinburgh
14. Full right to work in the UK
15. Full UK Driving Licence
