The position enables rotation and development in specialist clinics: Nail Surgery; Musculoskeletal and Wound Care, while delivering care to existing patients and assessing new referrals. Our caseload includes medium and high risk patients with complex medical conditions and high podiatric needs, with a domiciliary service for those who are not mobile or unable to travel to clinic. The team offers a developmental/preceptorship post, enhancement and experience of specialist skills which can lead to future opportunities and career development. Located in NW Surrey with good transport links to London and access to outdoor spaces. Please note we do NOT offer UKVI sponsorship; all applicants require the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
* Provide a highly effective, comprehensive foot health and protection service for the population of CSH Surrey at various clinical sites including the patient’s own home.
* Participate in a mentored rotational programme of specialist clinics, gaining knowledge and experience in diabetes (acute and community), nail surgery, biomechanics.
* Assess, diagnose, develop treatment plans and provide effective podiatric treatments using a problem solving approach based on clinical need and evidence based practice.
* Emphasise patient empowerment and independence by providing education and information to help patients manage their own foot needs.
* Work as an autonomous clinician within Professional, Departmental and CSH guidelines; be part of a multidisciplinary team when required; act as a source of advice to patients, carers, GPs and other health care professionals.
* Maintain clear, comprehensive and accurate records; participate in specialist clinical rotations and clinical supervision with reflective practice.
* Keep up to date with clinical and professional developments; maintain CPD and mandatory training; participate in personal development reviews.
* Communicate effectively with all patients, carers, relatives, GPs and other health professionals and administrative support.
* Manage a domiciliary caseload within a geographical area and obtain informed consent prior to treatment plans.
* Assist in the operational management of an assigned clinical base (pharmacy supplies, stock management) following health and safety guidelines, infection control, and local policies.
* Use IT systems appropriately and ensure adherence to professional and clinical guidelines.
Qualifications
* Essential: BSc Podiatric Medicine or equivalent or new graduates.
* Local Anesthesia Certificate (or new graduate).
* HCPC Registration (or new graduate).
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Car driver (full license) with access to a car for business use.
* Desirable: Member of the Royal College of Podiatry.
Experience
* Essential: Highly developed dexterity and clinical skills; clear and effective communication (written and verbal); ability to work independently and in a team; good computer literacy; good organisational skills; positive attitude to change.
* Desirable: Awareness of current NHS trends, policies and clinical governance; experience of research and audit; flexibility and ability to work under pressure; good presentation skills.
