About The Role
We are seeking a talented and passionate Engineering Graduate to join our expanding Air Vehicle Design Engineer function. In this role you will report to one of our Air Vehicle Engineering Team Leads and will play a key part within all Design Engineering activities, working as part of a team of cross-functional engineers.
As part of the role you will interface with and support production, flight test, avionic systems and software specialists, programme management and customer representatives. You will support the wider team as well as having the autonomy to work alone. You will be provided with in-house training and on the job training & development.
Responsibilities
Assist those within your project team with UAV design and customisation projects, managing own output and working with other team members to ensure necessary tasks are completed in required timeframes.
Complete tasks related to the design and development of UAVs; detailed design covering, structure, electrical wiring, powerplant and vehicle systems.
Support in the design for manufacture process including shop support and design amendments.
Ensure design solutions meet requirements and timescales.
Communicate effectively with colleagues ensuring difficulties are identified and resolved quickly.
Prepare for and execute sub-system level testing. Prepare for and support vehicle level testing. Resolve resulting issues quickly and effectively.
Deploy configuration control and documentation appropriate to customer needs.

Qualifications
About You
An upper second-class (2:1) or above BSc or Master Honours degree in an Engineering or Science subject.
Essential
Skills and Experience
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Understanding and ideally experience in 3D CAD using SolidWorks or a comparable software package.
Strong understanding of design for manufacture processes.
Report writing and information dissemination/presentation.
Desirable
Design or systems engineering experience, preferably in an aerospace context.
Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC milling.
Experience with configuration management and document management tools and their application in an engineering context.
Experience designing and integrating aircraft systems.
Experience using aerodynamic tools to evaluate.
Requirements verification and validation experience.
Personal Attributes
Must be a British Citizen or must have an existing right to work in the UK
Ability to live near and work in Salisbury, Wiltshire UK
UK driving licence and ability to commit to occasional national travel
Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK
