Role Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication skills to guide their team towards meeting sales and KPI targets while delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the Store Manager in managing all store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets, setting clear sales goals and tracking performance to foster continuous growth.
2. Create a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and ongoing development of staff, building a motivated and high-performing team.
3. Analyze sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions, identifying opportunities operationally and commercially.
4. Act as the point of contact for colleagues in the Store Manager's absence.
5. Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints professionally.
6. Assist in managing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
7. Support cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
8. Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
9. Offer feedback and coaching to improve colleague performance.
10. Assist in maintaining colleague schedules for optimal coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs:
1. Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales target.
2. Drive additional KPIs such as Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
3. Achieve upselling and cross-selling targets.
4. Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
5. Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
6. Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
7. Maintain employee satisfaction and engagement scores meeting or exceeding company benchmarks.
8. Assist in keeping operational costs within the budget.
Skills and Experience:
1. Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
2. Passion for retail with a good understanding of current trends and competitors.
3. Experience in coaching and developing individuals.
4. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and KPIs.
5. Ability to analyze KPI data for commercial decision-making.
6. Attention to detail and commercial awareness; visual merchandising experience is a plus.
7. Ability to promote JD Group values to stakeholders.
