Role The company is seeking a skilled and proactive Application Systems Analyst to support manufacturing and satellite offices based at the Maydown site. This is a hands-on technical role at the heart of operations, focused on ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of the business applications used every day. You will own the full lifecycle of application support, from diagnosing and resolving incidents to proactively monitoring systems, improving processes, and collaborating with product owners on change delivery. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application and system problems, acting as the primary point of contact for incidents disrupting business application services. Deliver excellent internal customer service by applying strong support skills alongside business and technical knowledge to triage issues, escalate where appropriate, and drive timely resolution. Proactively manage application support issues, maintaining the stability, security, and performance of solutions across the environment. Provide standardised documentation in line with ALM best practices, supporting all changes with clear and consistent records. Ensure 247 availability of systems through active monitoring of infrastructure and production processes, automation via scripting, and permit-to-operate sign-offs on each application release. Monitor and respond to tickets submitted through the incident management system, prioritising and handling service requests and incidents effectively. Troubleshoot alerts and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate team, providing relevant diagnostic information to aid resolution. Perform daily health checks across applications, scripts, and infrastructure to maintain service quality and catch issues early. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to innovation initiatives within the team. Improve and document technical processes around application support, building a stronger and more consistent operational baseline. Work collaboratively with product owners on change requests, issue management, and priority setting. Provide off-hours support to resolve critical system problems outside standard business hours when required. Essential Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical or business discipline. At least 3 years experience in a similar or relevant role. Proven experience using VB6, JAVA, HTML, SQL Server, and SQL. Hands-on experience in an applications production support or application development environment. Working knowledge of ITIL-compliant incident, problem, and change service management. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide customer support and deal with escalated issues across various levels of the business. Ability to execute systems analysis. Problem-solving skills with a passion for innovation. Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritise work effectively, and adapt under pressure. Right to work in the UK. Desirable Requirements Experience with development in contemporary tech stacks, such as AWS Cloud general skills. Experience with MES architecture and concepts. Familiarity with source control and DevOps practices. Familiarity with SAP, with a focus on the PP/PI module. All of the above criteria may be further enhanced to shortlist for interview.
