Year 1 Phonics Intervention Teacher – Salford
Start Date: After the Easter Break
Hours: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Salford that is looking to appoint a Year 1 Phonics Intervention Teacher to join their team after the Easter break. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting pupils in developing strong phonics and early reading skills.
About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with Year 2 pupils, delivering focused phonics interventions to help improve reading confidence and support pupils in preparation for the Phonics Screening Check. The position is ideal for a teacher who enjoys working with small groups and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging phonics intervention sessions
Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches where needed
Provide targeted support for pupils who require additional help
Work collaboratively with class teachers and SEN staff to ensure consistency in learning
Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching phonics, ideally within Key Stage 1
Good understanding of Letters and Sounds or a similar phonics programme
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to differentiate teaching to support a range of learning needs
