We are looking for a motivated and dependable Production Operative / Machine Operator to join our specialist electrical and mechanical process plant on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on, practical role ideal for someone who enjoys structured processes, working to targets, and being part of a supportive team.
This position offers long-term security, career development, and an excellent pathway to increased earnings following successful training and probation.
Due to the intricate nature of the work, we would favour those with experience as a Quality Technician, Machinist or Process Operative, with some prior experience conducting first on / last off checks, and/or interpretation of basic technical drawings.
Shift Patterns:
Rotating Shifts (34 hours per week)
1. Monday – Thursday: 06:00–13:30 / 13:30–21:00
2. Friday: 06:00–12:30 / 12:30–19:00
Additionally, we are sourcing for 5 night shift operators. Hours for these are as follows:
3. Monday - Thursday: 1800-0600 / 2000-0600 (on selected nights)
OR
4. Friday to Sunday: 1800-0600
Key Responsibilities
Working as part of a small, dedicated team, you will be responsible for:
5. Carrying out routine production tasks and following established procedures
6. Preparing and setting equipment in line with company requirements
7. Monitoring each stage of the production process and maintaining consistent output quality
8. Using hand tools to inspect and quality-check your own work
9. Accurately completing documentation and adhering to SOPs
10. Supporting basic machine upkeep and safe handling of raw metallic materials
11. Maintaining focus in a fast-paced environment and contributing to smooth workflow
Person Profile
We are seeking someone who:
12. Has strong attention to detail and good communication skills
13. Is reliable, proactive, and eager to learn
14. Can follow written and verbal instructions confidently
15. Is comfortable working to targets and contributing to team success
16. Ideally has 6–12+ months of Production Line Operative experience
17. Can work rotating shifts and remain flexible as the business grows
Hours & Pay
18. Hours: Rotating shifts (as stated above)
19. Starting Rate: £12.84 per hour
20. Pay Increase: Upon successful completion of probation
21. Earning Potential: £15+ per hour once fully trained
