Nursing Associate - Urgent/Emergency Care

Are you a qualified and compassionate Nursing Associate looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment? Join our Emergency Department (ED) here at Salford Royal Hospital and become an integral part of our multidisciplinary team providing urgent care to patients when they need it most.

You will support our multi skilled diverse Team which consists of Clinicians, Advanced and Emergency Practitioners, GP's, Registered Nurses and support staff who deliver high-quality, safe, and effective care to patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of conditions.

About you :

* Previous experience in acute care or emergency settings is desirable but not essential;
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills;
* Able to work under pressure and adapt quickly in a busy clinical setting;
* Committed to continuous learning and professional development;

Main duties of the job

The role of the Nursing Associate is to work with the multi professional team and the Registered Nurse contributing to the ongoing assessment of patients. Providing and monitoring care in line with the service pathways and as agreed with supervising clinician(s). They will monitor the condition and health needs of people within their care on a continual basis in partnership with the multi-professional team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide hands-on, person-centered care to patients in the Emergency Department;
* Undertake clinical observations, wound care, ECGs, venepuncture, and other delegated tasks;
* Support patients and families emotionally during stressful and acute situations;
* Assist with triage, admissions, and transfers;
* Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to clinical handovers;
* Promote infection control, dignity, and safeguarding at all times;

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC Register
* Foundation Degree
* GCSEs Grade C or above in Maths and English Language / New GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths and English Language OR Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or Equivalent


Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

* Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
* Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code.
* Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
* Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
* Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
* Skilled in venepuncture
* Proven experience in Urgent / Emergency Care speciality.
* Cannulation
