Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Dealership Accountant to join our accounts team for our Suzuki dealerships. This role will be based at Suzuki Keighley. You will be involved in the day-to-day running of the finance team, supported by a team of two. You will report to the Group Financial Controller.
This is a permanent position, initially providing 12 months maternity cover at our Suzuki Keighley dealership. After this period, the role will transition to another D M Keith dealership, likely within West Yorkshire, with the exact location to be confirmed based on the successful candidate's home location and business needs.
About the business
Our business started over 60 years ago and has been in the same family ever since. From humble beginnings, we have grown to be among the top 50 car dealers in the country. We have a stable workforce of over 600 people across 26 businesses. We value genuine, caring individuals who have a positive attitude and a passion for customer service.
Our recruitment philosophy is to recruit for attitude and train for skills. We welcome candidates with a customer-focused mindset, aligned with our Family Values of Fit, Fun, Family, and Fearless. Experience in the automotive industry is not mandatory; attitude and willingness to learn are key.
We offer an industry-leading package and opportunities for advancement. We promote from within and expect our employees to be ambitious and driven to excel.
About you
The ideal candidate will have experience in the motor trade, either as an Accountant or as a confident Assistant Accountant. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with dealership management are essential. You should possess an accounting qualification or be qualified by experience. Experience with Pinnacle DMS and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are required.
The role involves overseeing all aspects of the finance function, including:
* Preparing management accounts and composites for submission to manufacturers.

* Supporting dealership management with timely and accurate reporting, analyzing trends, and resolving issues.
* Maintaining the site's balance sheet through regular reconciliation.
* Coaching and training junior accounts team members.
What we offer
* A workplace pension scheme.
* Competitive salary.
* 30 days annual leave, including 8 bank holidays, with average commission paid during leave.
* Preferential rates for servicing and repairs for your family and friends' cars.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, national origin, religion, disability, or other characteristics.
