WHO WE ARE
The Code Zone runs exciting coding clubs for children aged 6–16. We're an award-winning edtech company that makes learning to code genuinely fun; through game-making, creative projects, and a whole lot of enthusiasm. We run online clubs with over 1,000 members every week, as well as local clubs across the Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire region.
Think less “boring IT lesson”, more “after-school gaming club where you accidentally learn to code.”
THE ROLE
As a Local Club Assistant, you'll be the right hand of our club leader, helping kids aged 6–14 get stuck into coding sessions using tools like Scratch (drag-and-drop block coding) and beginner Python. You don't need to be a coding expert — we'll train you on everything.
Here's what a typical session might look like:
- Help setup the computers, VR headsets and robots before the session starts
- Welcome kids as they arrive, help them get set up
- Walk around and help when someone's stuck on their project
- Chat to kids about their game ideas and help them problem-solve
- Celebrate when someone's creation comes to life
- Help prep prep for the next session.
