MFT offers an exciting opportunity to appoint a Clinical Trials Manager (initial fixed term for 2 years) working in partnership with the ICB.

This role will be based within MFT, working closely with ICB colleagues and GP practices across Greater Manchester to support setup and delivery of an NIHR funded multi-centre trial.

The Clinical Trials Manager (CTM) will be a member of both the MFT clinical trials operational delivery team and the ICB Team.

As the CTM, you would share our passion and commitment to increase access to research and its associated benefits across the Greater Manchester region.


Responsibilities

The main responsibilities are to manage the set-up and delivery of an NIHR funded trial across the Greater Manchester footprint. It will involve travel across the region meeting with the teams within the ICB and across GP practices. Working closely with the study sponsor to ensure the study is opened and delivered across Greater Manchester within the agreed timelines.

Working with ICB colleagues, sponsor and GP practices across Greater Manchester you will ensure the set-up and delivery of an NIHR funded study in line with sponsor expectations.

Person Specification


Education

* MSc or an equivalent qualification or experience in clinical trials or a health related discipline.
* Degree
* Evidence of structured managerial training and continuing professional development, a managerial qualification or proven experience.
* A thorough understanding of the clinical trial process.
* PhD
* Management Qualification


Knowledge and Experience

* Experience in Clinical Trials Management, including setup, financial management, data collection, audit and project management.
* Sound knowledge of all aspects of research governance and related legislation and inspection requirements (e.g. MHRA, HTA,).
* Experience of the governance and approval systems within the NHS and UK CRN for clinical studies.
* An appreciation of research methodology.
* Research project monitoring.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Experience of managing a budget and grant management.
* Evidence of writing policies and procedures and evaluating their application in practice.


Skills

* Excellent organisational skills, with a methodical approach and the ability to pay attention to detail.
* Ability to motivate self and others.
* Ability to work as part of a team and experience of interdisciplinary working.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to present information and materials to a wide range of audiences.
* Ability to prioritise own and others workload and practice effective time management.
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight and unexpected deadlines.
* Able to demonstrate initiative and judgement in identifying key issues.
* Advanced IT skills with a good working knowledge of IT packages and databases.

£47,810 to £54,710 a year (pro rata)
