Role Overview The Base Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership, organisation and standards of Gemini House. This is a hands-on role with accountability for ensuring equipment preparation, warehouse discipline and asset control are delivered accurately on time and to the highest professional standards. The role will establish and implement the processes, structure and operational discipline required to support a high-performance broadcast operation. This includes defining how equipment is received, prepared, tracked, stored, deployed and returned, ensuring full visibility and control of assets at all times. Working closely across Logistics, Engineering and Commercial pillars, the Base Operations Manager ensures the right equipment is prepared correctly, staged efficiently and ready for deployment without last minute correction or rework. This role requires visible leadership on the floor, leading the team through example, mentoring and clear operational direction. The position is accountable for creating a structured, efficient and forward-looking base operation, owning the standards, organisation and readiness of Gemini House. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership and Team Management Lead and supervise the base operations and Base Operations team on a daily basis, maintaining a strong visible presence on the floor Lead by example, setting the standard for organisation, professionalism and attention to detail Mentor and develop the team, building a culture of accountability, pride and operational discipline Ensure the team has clear preparation lists, priorities and timelines at all times Create a structured and high performing base operation aligned with NEP UK�s operational ambitions Process Implementation and Asset Control Assess current warehouse, preparation and asset flow processes and identify gaps or inefficiencies Design and implement structured processes governing how equipment moves into, through and out of the base Establish clear procedures for equipment preparation, return, storage and redeployment Ensure all assets are tracked accurately using EasyJob (or equivalent asset management systems). Implement structured intake and return processes including inspection, verification and correct storage Coordinate the filtering of equipment into maintenance Ensure all equipment has a defined home and is stored logically and consistently Equipment Preparation and Operational Readiness Coordinate and oversee daily equipment preparation to ensure all kit is ready accurately, neatly and on time Validate that equipment is prepared in line with project specifications and operational requirements Create clearly defined staging areas for upcoming deployments Anticipate operational needs and ensure preparation timelines are met without last minute correction Minimise errors, omissions and rework through structured planning and oversight Warehouse Management and Site Standards Take ownership of the overall operational standards of Gemini House Ensure the warehouse, preparation areas and operational spaces are organised, tidy and fit for purpose Maintain high standards of housekeeping, layout and storage discipline Act as the visible owner of site standards, ensuring the base reflects operational excellence Oversee building upkeep, repairs and operational improvements where required Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement Develop and implement operational KPIs to monitor preparation accuracy, readiness and efficiency Track and improve asset visibility, utilisation and warehouse efficiency Identify opportunities to improve operational performance and reduce inefficiencies Support implementation and compliance with ISO and operational audit requirements Ensure operational processes are documented, repeatable and sustainable Cross Pillar Coordination Work closely with Logistics, Engineering and Commercial teams to ensure alignment on project requirements Ensure the correct equipment is prepared, available and ready in line with operational timelines Support the efficient movement and utilisation of assets across the business Escalate risks early where operational readiness may be impacted What we are looking for: Proven experience managing warehouse, base operations or technical operational environments Demonstrable experience implementing operational processes and structure within a fast paced environment Strong leadership capability with experience supervising and developing operational teams Experience using EasyJob or similar asset management systems, or the ability to quickly learn and adopt such systems Strong understanding of asset control, preparation workflows and equipment lifecycle management Experience working in broadcast, live events, technical production or similarly complex operational environments highly advantageous Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to identify gaps, take ownership and implement effective solutions Calm, structured and effective under operational pressure Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple departments Pride in maintaining high standards and creating well organised, professional working environments Proactive mindset with strong sense of ownership and accountability What�s in it for you?
