We offer a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Band 7 CNS to join our Paediatric ENT team on a fixed-term basis until March 2026. The service cares for children across the Southwest with various ENT conditions, focusing on complex airway management.

The post involves providing teaching and education to staff and families, particularly on tracheotomies and complex airways, ensuring high-quality standardised care across BRHC. The post holder will collaborate with the Faculty of Children’s Nursing Education and Research for training and audit activities.

Responsibilities include participating in ward rounds at BRHC and NICU, liaising with the MDT for care planning, and being a primary contact for families with complex airway pathways. The role also involves ensuring effective transition pathways for paediatric ENT patients.

While based at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, the post holder will also attend NICU and St Michaels regularly. The candidate must work well within a team and independently, demonstrating problem-solving and organisational skills. Flexibility and a commitment to providing safe, friendly, and efficient service are essential.

Main duties of the job

The post involves working as part of the multidisciplinary team within University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and the community. You will provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families throughout their care pathway, from diagnosis onwards.

You will apply your clinical expertise, leadership, education, and management skills to ensure seamless patient care. The role includes advising and supporting community teams for patients outside the local area.

The primary caseload will be complex airway, head, and neck patients, with some patients in NICU at St Michaels and BRHC. The position is full-time, working Monday to Friday. You will lead and participate in multidisciplinary team discussions.
