Position Overview
* Ensure the supply of products aligns with manufacturing plans to meet customer requirements, on time and in full.
* Manage stock levels according to budgets, minimize obsolescence, and control purchasing batch sizes for slow-moving items.
* Support the introduction of new products (NPI).
* Support the Engineering Change Process within the supply chain, from supplier to production line, minimizing stock holding and managing raw material dispositions.
* Manage relationships and processes related to sub-contractors, including job raising and order placement.
* Oversee non-direct material and service contractor processes, ensuring scheduled maintenance and contract renewals are completed on time.
* Ensure compliance with all company Quality and Environmental Policies, as well as statutory legal requirements such as CE standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers.
* Ensure timely placement of orders.
* Negotiate prices, batch sizes, and stock holding agreements.
* Manage stock levels effectively.
* Establish purchasing parameters.
* Handle supplier returns, rejections, and over-deliveries.
* Manage consumable stock levels.
* Coordinate NPI and engineering change processes.
* Manage the introduction of new products into stores.
* Support and mentor team members.
Skills and Qualifications
* Ability to plan and organize activities efficiently.
* Strong team player with excellent communication skills, capable of persuading and developing internal and external relationships.
* Ability to analyze and interpret data, including handling numerical and financial information.
* Understanding of company policies, procedures, and technical systems.
* Knowledge of the business environment, including economic, social, and political factors.
* CIPS qualification or relevant experience.
