Position summary: Responsible forleading, overseeing, or performingengineering design usingadvancedknowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisorand mentorto less experienced engineers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
* Lead thedesign formultiple concurrent projects and tasksfor your discipline.
* Assist Project Manager with consultative services to the client byunderstanding client requirements, recommendations, and solutions to enhance client experience.
* Attendsclient meetingsor interviewsin support of projectmanager.
* Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases ofthe engineeringwork in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
* Design projects using advanced discipline knowledge,client specificationsand guidelinesusing design software and drawing tools.
* Develop solutions to complex problems and sharebestpractices/lessons learned on awide scale(company, client, or industry)
* Defining parameters, reviewing, and presenting alternative studies based on experience and advanced engineering knowledge.
* Prepare or lead the preparation of engineering documents, technical reports memos, etc.
* Evaluateand collaborate ondiscipline’sworkflow andstandard operating proceduresto increase efficiency.
* Performand checkdesign computations.
* Quality review of project designin accordance withthe Project Management Plan.
* Providecrossdisciplinaryand constructabilityreviewson complex projects.
* Providing input to project manager and section head withscopedevelopment, work hours for tasks, and project schedule creation for discipline.
* Manage and lead work tomeetprovidedprojectscheduleandbudgetrelevant to discipline.
* Coordinateand collaborate with team membersand other disciplines to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.
* Delegate project work to design engineers,coordinateproject requirements,andperformqualityreviews.
* Mentor and coach on technical knowledge to advance their skill development and advise on project design.
* Activelyparticipatingand contributing (presenting, publishing papers, etc.)inindustry organizations, publications, and/or conversations.

Required Skills
* Proficient indiscipline specific software
* Proficientin Microsoft Office
* Written and communication skills
* Familiarity ofa variety of engineering disciplines
* Presentationskills
Required Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
* 12+years ofexperience
* Professional Engineer License
* Experience working with local clients at the county andstatelevel
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work isgenerally sedentaryin nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature areadequateand there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Field work isrequiredon occasions where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may berequiredas needed.
