Environmental Advisor
We're looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in the Norfolk/Suffolk region.
Location: Norfolk/Lincoln, with travel to Essex, Cambridge, and Suffolk. Some working from home options available.
Hours: 45 hours per week. Flexibility available—just let us know when you speak to us.
This role involves working on the Kier and Anglian Water Alliance, delivering multiple projects across their operating area on both clean and wastewater sites. These projects are part of Anglian Water's regulatory commitments to improve effluent quality during the AMP8 spending period. You will support projects across the Anglian Water region, primarily focusing on Norfolk and Lincoln, with additional support in Essex, Cambridgeshire, and Suffolk.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Environmental Advisor, you will provide guidance and support to project delivery teams to ensure environmental legal compliance and support the delivery of Kier's sustainability frameworks. You will help maintain conformity with Kier and Client Environmental Management Systems and assist the Kier Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks division and clients in meeting sustainability targets and delivering projects in line with policies.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
* Acting as the first point of contact for environmental management issues for project and design teams
* Assisting or leading the development of project environmental management systems
* Supporting project teams to obtain and comply with regulatory and client requirements
* Developing and facilitating environmental training
* Conducting environmental audits and site inspections, and supporting third-party audits
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you have:
* Experience in environmental management and sustainability within construction projects
* Experience in assessing environmental aspects and impacts, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing environmental management procedures
* Good knowledge of and practical experience with ISO 14001-certified EMSs
* Knowledge of statutory environmental requirements
* Experience liaising with stakeholders, including statutory bodies
* A full driving license
