About the Role
The General Manager (GM) supports the COO in overseeing overall leadership, direction, and operational management of Malloy Aeronautics (MA). The role includes daily business operations, strategy formulation and implementation, budget management, and ensuring organisational goals are met.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the key decision-maker across functional areas – Facilities, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), Security, Business Ops & IT – fostering a productive, efficient, and growth‑oriented environment.
* Ensure appropriate Business Governance is in place, aligning MA operations with BAE Systems standards.
* Act as Project Management Authority for MA, applying PM governance to all delivered projects and collaborating closely with BAE Systems FalconWorks PM team.
* Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of transformation programmes, aligning initiatives with MA’s strategic goals and IBP objectives.
* Oversee day‑to‑day operations of MA to ensure efficiency and productivity across Facilities, SHE, Security, Business Ops & IT.
* Drive high standards of safety, health, environment, and sustainability.
* Support the development of company strategy, focusing on how MA delivers its strategic objectives.
* Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports; monitor KPIs and take corrective actions as needed.
* Ensure operational compliance with all company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations, aligning with the BAE Systems Operational Framework and Code of Conduct.
* Drive customer (internal) satisfaction and ensure a high level of service delivery.
* Identify areas for operational improvement and implement systems or process changes fed into transformation activities.
* Guarantee security of employees, site, and company information.
* Identify and manage enterprise risks and opportunities.
* Lead, mentor, and develop staff members.
* Collaborate with MA Senior Leadership Team to define strategic goals and align transformation initiatives.
* Conduct gap analyses, assess business processes, and identify opportunities for optimisation or innovation.
* Develop and manage transformation roadmaps, including timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation.
* Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of transformation activities.
* Monitor project outcomes, report on key performance indicators, and adjust plans as needed to achieve objectives.
* Manage change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, systems, or structures.
* Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder communications to build engagement and support.
* Evaluate risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure program success.
Qualifications & Experience
* Thorough understanding of contract management & project control processes, including lifecycle management, integrated baseline planning, and operational assurance statements.
* Experienced leader with expertise in Project Management, General Management, Business delivery/execution, and engineering early lifecycle.
* Experience leading complex programmes at the early stage of product life cycles.
* Programme/contract lead capable of collaborating with partners, suppliers, and customers.
* Adaptability in an agile, dynamic environment, influencing partners and customers.
* Strong interpersonal skills for developing robust, enduring relationships in a multicultural, multi‑organisation setting.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, including preparing customer briefing materials.
* Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK.
