Your new company is a well‑established construction contractor based in Burnley with a strong presence across the region, known for delivering commercial, residential, and public‑sector projects. Their finance team plays a key role in ensuring projects run smoothly, and you'll be joining a business that genuinely invests in training, development, and long‑term career progression. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent and full-time basis.
Your new role
As Assistant Accountant, you will manage the company cashbook and petty cash, reconcile company bank accounts. You will process and deal with all debtors and creditors, ensuring transactions are valid and reconciled, maintain the company's fixed asset register, processing prepayments, accruals, VAT, supplier reconciliations and bank reconciliations. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 8:30-5:00.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this position, you will have worked in a similar position recently and be able to hit the ground running. You must be incredibly organised, be able to manage your own workload with a self-starter attitude and be confident picking up new systems. Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables are essential for this role, and ideally have worked on Sage or another ERP system.
What you'll get in return
In return for this, you will be offered a full-time salary of £29,000 - £32,000 per annum. Alongside this, you are offered a range of benefits, including 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays, healthcare cashplan, based in the office and parking onsite.
