This job is Workstyle 4 – Hybrid.

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from a variety of locations, working from council buildings, working in service user’s locations and site visits and you can work from home to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our dynamic Food and Safety team.
\n
Based within Angus Council’s Environmental Health Service, you will play a key role in protecting public health and ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety legislation across the area.
\n
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive team, where your professional skills and judgement will be highly valued. You will carry out inspections, investigate complaints, respond to food safety incidents, and work proactively with local businesses to promote best practices in food hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
\n
Undertake programmed food hygiene inspections in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice
\n
Investigate food safety complaints, infectious disease notifications, and workplace health and safety concerns
\n
Provide advice and support to food businesses and the public
\n
Prepare reports and enforcement documentation where required
\n
Contribute to service planning and continuous improvement initiatives
\n
Inspection and administration of holiday caravan sites
\n
About You:
\n
You should be a qualified Environmental Health Officer, holding the REHIS Diploma or equivalent. Ideally, you will have experience working within local government and a good working knowledge of Scottish food law and health and safety legislation.
