Overview

Post Title: Teaching Assistant - Level 1

Responsible to: Headteacher

Location: St Joseph’s RC Primary, Heywood

Salary: Grade 2, SCP 3-4. Actual Salary £18,900 - £19,196 (£24,796 - £25,185 FTE)

Term of Contract: Permanent

Hours per week: 32.5, Term time + 5

Start date: As soon as possible

Closing date: Friday 10th October 2025

Note: St Joseph’s RC Primary, Heywood are seeking a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1 to 1 support to children with additional needs. Some general classroom support may also be required on occasion.

Role Purpose

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Level 1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1 to 1 support for children with additional needs. Some general classroom support may be required. Previous experience with children with additional needs is desirable.
