People & Safety Advisor
Location: Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire
Salary: £28k
Hours: 40 hours per week (flexible Monday to Friday between 07:00 – 18:00)
About the Role
Interaction Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a long-established, family-owned business based in Northamptonshire. With over 90 years of history and a strong presence across the Equipment, Construction, and Manufacturing sectors, our client is renowned for their values-led approach and supportive work environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a People & Safety Advisor to join their central operations team. The role supports both HR and Health & Safety functions and is pivotal in driving high standards across the business.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organised, and proactive – someone who thrives on variety, can deliver results, and embraces change as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment
1. Assist in creating and advertising job descriptions
2. Coordinate with Marketing to manage social media and website listings
3. Proactively source candidates to reduce recruitment costs
4. Liaise with external partners and coordinate interviews
5. Prepare offer letters and employment contracts
Onboarding & Induction
6. Conduct reference, right-to-work, and driver checks
7. Coordinate induction plans with hiring managers
8. Collate onboarding documentation and track probation reviews
HR Support
9. Enter new starters into HR systems and maintain accurate employee data
10. Support absence management and wellbeing initiatives
11. Administer flexible working and family leave policies
12. Assist managers with performance and development plans
Health & Safety
13. Support the implementation of Health & Safety policies
14. Provide guidance on SHE standards and legislative compliance
15. Maintain H&S documentation, registers, and training records
16. Assist with audits, inspections, and incident investigations
17. Keep the team updated on legislative changes and industry developments
18. Coordinate contractor and supplier H&S documentation
Training & Development
19. Identify training needs and liaise with providers
20. Maintain training records and matrices
21. Ensure all compliance-related training is delivered and documented
General Administration
22. Provide admin support to People and Operations teams
23. Assist with event planning and supplier coordination
24. Follow internal procurement processes including raising purchase orders
What We’re Looking For
25. Previous experience in a combined HR and/or H&S role
26. Strong administrative and organisational skills
27. Confident communicator with a proactive, can-do attitude
28. Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
29. Experience using HR or H&S systems preferred
