1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant – WF9 Wakefield, WF9 (Ackworth / Fitzwilliam / Hemsworth) Full-time, Term-time only Salary: £90-£110 We’re looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a WF9 primary school. This role is ideal for someone who can provide calm, consistent and nurturing support to help a learner with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs succeed in school. The Role: • Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEMH needs • Help with emotional regulation, resilience and social skills • Follow behaviour plans, EHCP strategies and staff guidance • Work closely with the SENCO and class teachers • Create a safe, structured learning environment • Support lesson engagement, learning tasks and positive behaviour • Record progress and key information accurately We’re Looking For: • Patient, empathetic and calm under pressure • Able to build trust and strong relationships • Confident with de‑escalation and restorative approaches • Adaptable, proactive and positive • SEMH experience (advantageous but not essential) • Willing to complete relevant training If you feel this role suits you, click Apply and send your CV today!
