Unique School Solutions are working with a friendly, community primary school in the S36 area of Sheffield to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant to work with children with speech, language, and communication needs in their specialist SEND unit.
This is a full-time role starting ASAP. Initially, this role will be long-term temporary; there is the opportunity for a direct school contract for the right candidate with the school, following a successful probation period.

The role:
* Supporting children with speech, language and communication needs in a small and bespoke specialist provision within school

* Providing personalised support and learning to children with SEND

Essential requirements for the role:
* Previous experience of working with children with SEND in a school environment, within the last 2 years
* Be prepared to support children’s physical needs, including personal care
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Ability to use own initiative
* The ability to build rapport with young learners
* The ability to use own initiative and work with other support staff
* The ability to work 1:1 and support small groups with learning
