Cannock Road Medical Practice is a group practice across two sites serving approximately 10,000 patients and is looking for a salaried GP.
This is a 12-month fixed-term position with the potential to become a permanent post for the right candidate.
We are a high achieving, patient centred practice.
CQC rating of Good in all areas
Clinical team of 4 GPs, 1 ANP, 1 Practice Nurse, 2 HCA
Non-Clinical experienced support team of 16
Clinical system EMISWeb
Accredited training practice GP Registrars and Foundation (Cannock Road)
Accredited training practice Student Nurses (Cannock Road & Essington)
Member of Wolverhampton North Network PCN & The Cannock Villages PCN
Main duties of the job
A Salaried GP to work as an autonomous practitioner and undertake a variety of duties including:
* Face to face consultations
* Telephone consultations
* Home visits
* Checking and approving repeat prescriptions
* Dealing with queries / tasks
* Private medical reports
The role and responsibilities are not exhaustive or limited to the above.
The GP will be assessing the health care needs of patients and making professional, autonomous decisions as part of patient consultations. This will include safe and appropriate prescribing / treatment plans.
Overall the salaried GP will be expected to undertake all usual duties and responsibilities associated with an experienced GP working within primary care.

Job responsibilities
The post-holder will deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. Responsibilities will reflect requirements of the NHS GP Contracts, and as such may be subject to change as services adapt.
Person Specification
Experience
* 1) Experience of working in a primary care environment
* 2) Experience of QOF and clinical audit
* 3) Ability to make good, clear, concise medical notes
* 4) Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
* 5) Strong IT skills - including use of EMIS and Docman
* 6) Effective time management (planning & organizing)
* 7) Commitment to education and training
* 8) Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
* 9) Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
Qualifications
* 1) Medical Degree - MBBS / MbChB or equivalent
* 2) MRCGP
* 3) Full GMC registration and inclusion on the GP performers list.
* 4) Evidence of commitment to on-going personal and professional development.
* 5) Hold a full UK driving License.
