The investment team within Perch Group is primarily responsible for analysing and pricing potential investments and engaging with external clients across the financial sector to acquire portfolios of predominantly consumer debts in the UK.

The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic and fast paced team, with exposure to board level executives and external stakeholders on a regular basis. 🗓 So, what will your day-to-day look like?
You will work as part of the Investment Director’s team, supporting the Investment Director and Investment Managers across several areas including but not limited to:
🤝[60%] Leading (subject to experience) the portfolio acquisition processes that includes:
* In depth analysis of potential portfolio acquisitions, including understanding and applying the team’s propriety Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulation model and presenting findings back to Senior Management to support the Group’s decisioning and valuation process.
* Conducting on-site and remote due diligence on portfolio acquisition opportunities and supporting the regulatory and risk review of potential purchases.
✍️[15%] Writing and reviewing Investment Memorandums for board approval.
🗣[10%] Engaging with clients and financial institutions to understand and obtain all components required to accurately assess investment opportunities.
⚙️[5%] Work with Operational/Implementation departments within the business to support and execute portfolio migration plans at the point of sale, ensuring pricing assumptions align with intended operational strategies.
📊[5%] Support cross-departmental projects with Analytics and Decision Science teams to develop new and existing cashflow forecasting tools using statistical modelling to support live pricing assumptions (experience of Python, Excel and SQL a distinct advantage)
📈[5%] Review, analyse and support the monitoring of portfolio performance post-acquisition vs expectation and presenting findings back to the Investment team.
These percentages give approximate indication as to time allocation for a typical week and may vary on a day-to-day basis.
👆Does this sound like you?
* Strong academic background within a quantitative discipline at undergraduate/postgraduate level, e.g. STEM fields(s), Economics, Finance and/or;
* Professional accreditations e.g. CFA, ACA/ACCA/CIMA that would demonstrate a firm understanding of financial concepts e.g. Time Value of Money etc.
* Up to 2-3 years’ relevant work experience
* Comfortable working with large data sets, identifying and presenting key insights
* A high degree of attention to detail with the ability to consolidate and interpret complex information from multiple sources
* Strong MS Office Excel skills, experience with Python/SQL would be advantageous.
* A self-motivated individual capable of using own initiative to drive improvements in business processes
* Ambitious, driven individual with a strong desire to pursue a career within investment management &/or corporate finance
⏳ The Application Timeline
