Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (Northumberland)
Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Northumberland Talking Therapies to appoint a cohort of Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to be based within the Northumberland area and study through Teesside University. The post will involve office‑based working and will be based mainly in Morpeth, Blyth or Cramlington, with travel to other bases around Northumberland as required. The role includes one evening shift per week. Progression from Band 4 to Band 5 depends on successful completion of the training course; failure to complete the course will result in termination of employment. Main duties of the job
* Balance a high caseload while completing academic components of the role.
* Work towards a Post‑Graduate Certificate in Low‑Intensity Psychological Therapies and attend Teesside University each week.
* Provide speech‑language and music‑therapy service on non‑university days.

* Band 4 salary of £27,485 per year.

Qualifications & Experience
* Essential Qualifications – Evidence of ability to study successfully at undergraduate year 1 level or equivalent.
* Desirable Qualifications – Psychology or another health‑and‑care related undergraduate degree.
* Essential Knowledge – Understanding of anxiety and depression, workplace and meaningful occupation impact, and evidence‑based psychological therapies.
* Desirable Knowledge – Knowledge of medications for anxiety and depression and clinical risk assessment practices.
* Essential Training – Ability to complete all academic components and meet all PWP training requirements.
* Essential Experience – Working with people who have experienced common mental‑health problems, communicating with diverse backgrounds, working in a team environment, maintaining therapeutic relationships, and strong organisational and time‑management skills.
* Desirable Experience – Primary‑care setting experience, experience delivering agreed clinical outcomes, managing own caseload, local community involvement, and partnership with other services.
